These songs segued into one another on my iPod the other day, and I liked the juxtaposition of the pitch-shifted Janis Joplin and Madonna samples that each one contains. Both tracks first hit my eardrums sometime around 2005 or 06, thanks in part to WFMU UK uber-listener Paul McCarthy. During my time as a regular programmer on the station, Paul made it his mission to keep me fully conversant in the latest sounds from the British hip-hop underground.
